She earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2005 from University of Texas Southwestern medical school. She completed her residency training at Scott & White in 2008. Dr. Evans served as Chief Resident and Instructor at Texas A&M following her residency. She went on to complete her fellowship training in gastroenterology at Baylor University Medical Center from 2009-2012.
